An exciting and rare opportunity for a new role as Practice Manager for Social Work Development in Adult Social Care.
This post will join an established team providing commissioning, policy, performance and customer care for adult social care within the borough, with a focus on all aspects of professional development for our social care workforce.
The post holder will manage a range of work areas, and line manage a Service Development Officer, and will ensure the training and development needs of Adult Social Care are planned, commissioned and managed effectively. Reporting to the Principal Manager of the team, and liaising closely with the Principal Social Worker (PSW) for Halton, the post holder will lead on the development of post qualifying professional development requirements for social work practitioners, including Practice Educators Assisted Supported Year In Employment, Student Placements and Apprenticeships.
Candidates should be a registered social worker, be passionate about raising standards for social care staff and expanding training and development opportunities. Knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Significant post qualification experience in a social care setting;
- Enhanced knowledge of ASYE, Practice Education and CPD arrangements;
- Sound understanding of the principles of adult learning theories including supervision of others in supporting their professional development
The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to establish and maintain good working/professional relationships within and outside of the local authority.
