Do you have a passion for improving people’s health? If so Halton’s Public Health Team is looking to recruit Breastfeeding Support Workers to join its busy Health Improvement Team.
About the role / service
Halton’s Infant feeding team is an important part of the children’s agenda in Halton. The team work collaboratively with children’s centres, midwives and health visitors to increase the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding. The team offers infant feeding support and advice to all mothers as well as 1to1 support for breastfeeding mothers via home visits and telephone support. The team deliver antenatal workshops, introducing solid food workshops and are involved in wider campaigns and events such as the Global Latch On and international Breastfeeding week.
About you (the prospective candidate)
You will contribute to a comprehensive infant feeding support service, with the aim of reducing health inequalities. You will be able to demonstrate the necessary skills, enthusiasm and commitment in order to provide the best possible support and advice to all parents and work under the supervision and direction of the Early Years Health Improvement Coordinator. Completion of breastfeeding training, knowledge of the health benefits of breastfeeding and an ability to assess and plan care are essential requirements.
Working days 9am - 5pm with some evenings, days of work to be agreed

1 x 28 hour post, pro rata salary £15204 - £16457 per annum
1 x 30 hour post, pro rata salary £16290 - £17633 per annum
Both posts -Monday to Friday 9 am - 5pm (inc some evenings) working days to be agreed
