Ambitious for the future, Halton Libraries is an innovative service delivering customer focussed culture, learning and reading activity.
The Library Outreach Assistant post offers the opportunity to make a difference in Halton. As part of the outreach team and guided by the Library Development Officer, your varied role will include delivering the home library service, attending community meetings, hosting information sessions, and leading story sessions. This role works alongside people of all ages and backgrounds, and often in partnership to support the programmes we use to engage communities with our offer.
You will have an aptitude for working in a busy, customer facing environment and the ability to engage and communicate with a diverse range of service users. You will need to be organised, efficient, and confident with IT and social media.
Experience of working in public libraries or another community-focussed organisation is required, along with a commitment to excellent customer service, and continuous improvement of services. The ability to build relationships both internally and externally is important for this role as a significant part of the work will take place across the borough in venues that are not libraries.
The working pattern is Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend outreach events.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Julie Griffiths (Library Strategy & Development Manager) on 0151 511 8141.
Interviews will be held on Monday 6th June.
