Day Service Officer- Animal Husbandry, Halton Day Services
Halton day services provide a range of support for adults with a range of complex needs including Learning Disabilities, Physical and Sensory Disabilities and Dementia. Sited across many different venues and businesses within Halton, people have the opportunity to work in a variety of active businesses including catering outlets, a brewery, a hair salon, animal husbandry (agricultural small holding) and shop mobility.
An evidence based Active Support model of care ensures that attendees are able to access working within the service businesses at a level accessible to their individual needs. People have the opportunity to develop and learn new skills and gain promotion within the service, with the ultimate aspirations to secure paid work whilst promoting independence and inclusion.
The role of the day service officer is a dual role that not only takes responsibility for overseeing the day to day running of individual businesses but also provides front line supervision and support to individuals accessing the service and staff members supporting those individuals.
Your skills, experience and confidence will be sufficient to take responsibility for managing the day to day running of individual business areas. You will also fully appreciate the value you can bring to people’s lives by sharing your expertise and supporting people to work within your business areas. You will be committed to making activity accessible and meaningful for people with Learning Disabilities and other complex needs. You will meet the essential criteria as outlined on the person specification for the business area of animal husbandry.
