Halton Borough Council is looking to recruit a Place Planning Officer to its Policy, Provision and Performance Division within the People Directorate. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the Local Authority’s In Year Fair Access and Managed Transfer Protocol; Admissions to Primary and Secondary schools in Halton and neighbouring local authorities under the agreed Primary and Secondary Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme, and In Year Co-ordinated Admissions Arrangements, in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent or have extensive relevant experience within school admissions. Experience of inputting to and retrieval of data from Management Information Systems is essential, together with the ability to communicate effectively with Senior Management at schools and other agencies, and parents/carers. You will also possess an ability to negotiate and resolve disputes effectively to reach a desired outcome.
