Halton Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Markets Officer who will be responsible for the day to day operational duties of Halton’s Markets to ensure they operate effectively and efficiently.
You must have experience of working in a markets/retail environment and you will have practical knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards within markets, you will also assist with the development and implementation of the Markets protocols and procedures.
You must have a flexible approach which needs to be consistent to traders and customers alike, along with the ability for forward planning to ensure the markets are promoted and advertised at every opportunity.
You will have direct responsibility for the Security Team and Market Attendants, who are responsible for the day to day maintenance and general upkeep of the market buildings and surrounding areas, arranging rotas and ensuring they carry out their duties efficiently.
Ability to work outside normal office hours, such as early morning and weekends is essential for this role.
