PBSS is an award winning service with an excellent National reputation for delivering high quality Positive Behaviour Support to individuals within their local community. The service is accessed by children and adults who have a learning disability and/or Autism whom engage in behaviour that challenges services. The service is staffed by Board Certified Behaviour Analysts, Assistant Behaviour Analysts and Behaviour Practitioners and was the first of its kind in the UK to be developed within the context of a Local Authority.

The service works across 4 core domains;

Technical Support: full functional assessment, development of a person centred intervention plan, supported intervention and exit and maintenance criteria.

Crisis prevention: skilling up of mainstream services through training opportunities.

Early Intervention: behaviour analytic support within education settings.

Placement development: supporting people to move out of hospital or back to their local areas from out of borough placements.

PBSS has a team of dedicated assistant behaviour analysts and behaviour practitioners who support the behaviour analysts to complete assessments and deliver intervention. There is an emphasis on team work.

The Practice Manager is a dual role that is both clinical and managerial. You will hold a small clinical caseload fulfilling the technical support domain of the service. Furthermore you will take an active clinical role across the other domains of the service, including delivering training to a wide range of stakeholders. In addition to the clinical role you will assist the Principal Manager to deliver and monitor contractual obligations for relevant external stakeholders, manage assistant staff within the service, support on going service development and deliver training commitments.

PBSS is committed to working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team alongside our colleagues in social care and health. The service is commissioned by a number of other local authorities/CCGs within the Liverpool City Region. This role will take responsibility for the oversight of a specific locality. However, will clinically work across all areas and will likely encounter working in a number of different setting types e.g. family homes, supported tenancies, schools, short break opportunities and local residential services.

You will be a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or an MSc graduate in Applied Behaviour Analysis/Positive Behaviour Support who has started to gain appropriate clinical supervision as outlined by the BACB. You will have considerable experience of working directly with individuals utilising behaviour analytic approaches. You will have strong values and be committed to ensuring that service users lead fulfilling and exciting lives.
