Behaviour Practitioner - Positive Behaviour Support Service
Halton's PBSS is an award winning service with an excellent National reputation for delivering high quality Positive Behaviour Support to individuals within their local community. The service is accessed by children and adults who have a learning disability and/or Autism whom engage in behaviour that challenges services. The service is led by Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) and was the first of its kind in the UK to be developed within the context of a Local Authority.
The service works across 4 core domains. Technical Support: full functional assessment, development of a person centred intervention plan, supported intervention and exit and maintenance criteria. Crisis prevention: skilling up of mainstream services through training opportunities. Early Intervention: behaviour analytic support within education settings. Placement development: supporting people to move out of hospital or back to their local areas from out of borough placements. PBSS has a team of dedicated assistant behaviour analysts and behaviour practitioners who support the behaviour analysts to complete assessments and deliver intervention. There is an emphasis on team work.
Your role as a Behaviour Practitioner is to support the completion of behavioural assessments, implement person-centred intervention plans with individual service users, their family or support staff and train others to implement such plans. PBSS is committed to working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team alongside our colleagues in social care and health. The service is commissioned by a number of other local authorities/CCGs within the Liverpool City Region. Your role will enable work across all localities and will likely encounter working in a number of different setting types e.g. family homes, supported tenancies, schools, short break opportunities and local residential services.

You will have a Level 3 qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), e.g. BTEC Level 3 Certificate in PBS (or eligibility to commence on appointment) or the ability to demonstrate equivalent in experience or other relevant training e.g. courses in Applied Behaviour Analysis. You will also have experience of supporting children or adults in the home, community or school environment and experience of working with individuals whose behaviour challenges services.
You will have the ability to work remotely at home as required.
